Fa’asamoa

Where ever I may travel

I will always carry my culture

Where ever I stay

I will always be faithful to my ancestors

Whoever and whatever I may become in this country

I will still hold on to my roots

Roots of being a fa’asamoa

Being a respectful person

Being humble

Being honest

And being loyal to my love ones

For whatever future I may end up in this new world

I will always remember how I grew up in Samoa

Having to watch my parents struggle to provide for me

Even if we had breadfruit for dinner

We all eat happily and thankful

Because even though we were poor

We were happy together

Being a Samoan person

Not only pushes me to do my best in this new world

But it guides me through it

Holding stronger into my fa’asamoa

Is my number one method

To help me live in this world
